Introducing Dr. Eric S. Berens, MD, FACS

Dr. Eric Berens is a board-certified vascular surgeon, recognized for his groundbreaking work as one of the first U.S. surgeons to perform endoluminal stent-graft repair for abdominal aortic aneurysms. He is also a leader in the application of atherectomy techniques for peripheral arterial disease in Southern Arizona.


Dr. Berens graduated from the University of Arizona Medical School and furthered his expertise as an instructor of vascular surgery at Washington University. His commitment to innovation led him to complete a vascular surgery fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.


Since 1992, Dr. Berens has served the Tucson community, and in 2002, he established the Arizona EndoVascular Center, a hub of excellence in vascular care. He remains at the forefront of the field, pioneering new techniques and leading clinical research studies to advance peripheral arterial disease treatment.

Introducing Dr. Christopher Compton, MD

Dr. Christopher N. Compton, is a board-certified and highly regarded vascular surgeon with an impressive educational background and extensive experience. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Wayne State University. His training includes a surgical internship and residency at Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals of Cleveland, followed by a fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Compton is known for his expertise in both traditional open vascular surgery and minimally invasive endovascular techniques. He has been providing exceptional vascular care in Tucson since 2005.

Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Compton enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and their twin boys. Introducing Dr. Sara McKeever, DO

Dr. Sara McKeever is a board-certified vascular surgeon with a distinguished educational background and extensive professional experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Arizona before attending medical school at Midwestern University in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. McKeever completed an integrated residency program in Vascular Surgery at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, where she also served as Chief Resident of Vascular Surgery. Her dedication and leadership abilities were apparent even during her training.

After her residency, Dr. McKeever returned to Tucson to collaborate with her esteemed mentors, Dr. Compton and Dr. Berens, at the Arizona Endovascular Center. She holds the position of Chief of Vascular Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital, a level one trauma center.

Introducing Dr. Lauren Beliveau, MD

Dr. Lauren Beliveau, a board-certified vascular surgeon based in Tucson, began her medical journey at The University of Arizona. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and delved into diverse subjects, including mathematics, gender studies, and business, demonstrating her multidisciplinary approach to medicine.

Her medical education continued at The University of Arizona College of Medicine, and she pursued an intensive general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Beliveau's leadership qualities were evident as she served as the general surgery administrative chief resident during her training.

Specializing in vascular surgery, Dr. Beliveau completed her fellowship at Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital and The Heart Hospital in Plano, gaining expertise in a wide range of vascular surgical techniques. Her dedication extends beyond clinical practice with research contributions and a commitment to teaching, earning her recognition as the Fellow of the Year from Texas A&M medical students. Back in Tucson, she is devoted to providing exceptional vascular care to the community she holds dear.
